Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops - Shaun Bythell

This is the third book I have read by Shaun Bythell. His first two books were diary excerpts from his experience running a bookshop and have been very enjoyable so when I saw this was out, I ordered it from the library.

Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops was really short and had about 10 chapters. The first seven were descriptions of people Shaun has experienced in his bookshop. The eighth chapter talks about booksellers. Each chapter was titled using Latin terms made to match the type of people being described. In the introduction, Shaun regrets his decision to use Latin terms, but was too far into the process to change it. The introduction itself was just as entertaining as the book.

The book was enjoyable and made me smile many times. It was a quick read, being so short and I wanted more. As I have written in the past about his books, I always dream of working in a bookshop, so getting to read about it is enjoyable for me. Though I do question now if it would be a good career and if I could handle the customers being described in this book! Definitely recommended!
