This is a book that my book club recommended over and over and I think I'm the last one to read it. I resisted for awhile because it didn't sound like a book I would like or choose. But finally I was the last one so I took it. And I put off reading it. I picked it up last week and I was hooked.

The book is about Louisa Clark, a 26 year old in England who has just lost her job in a cafe. She lives with her parents and younger sister Treena and her son Thomas, and her grandfather. Louisa's family is struggling to make ends meet as her mother has to stay home to take care of her grandfather, her father's job is tenuous at the furniture factory, and her sister wants to go back to school. Her family relied on her income, so she immediately starts searching for a new job, but finds she isn't really suited to much. A job as a carer for a quadriplegic comes up and seems to be a long shot. Louisa is up against qualified carer's, but her chattiness and personality helps her get the job,

Will was in an accident two years ago and as a result, he was confined to a wheelchair. He has a nurse who comes in to do the medical stuff and then Louisa comes to be a companion during the day. Will is not happy and makes life difficult for Louisa at first, but they soon begin to actually enjoy each other's company.

While the book is portrayed as a love story, it has great characters that I really cared about, and a great story. I must admit I ended up crying at the end....thank goodness I wasn't on the bus or at work!! Highly recommend this one!
