I sent my husband to the library to return a couple books and pick up a couple holds (the library is open to in person visits again!) and he came back with a stack of books for me! This was the first one I wanted to read from all the books he brought back and I'm glad I did! I have read a few of Abbi Waxman's books and have enjoyed all of them and this one was did not disappoint.

This book follows Jessica and Emily Burnstein. Jessica is a partner at a law firm in Los Angeles and works all the time. She has a sixteen year old daughter, Emily, who is starting to look at colleges. Jessica paid for a college tour on the east coast and hopes that a week with Emily will help ease some tension between the two.

Right before the trip, Jessica threatens to quit her job based on her principles. Meanwhile, Emily is dealing with something at school and worried about the fallout. Throughout the trip the two fight, make up, and come to understandings about a few issues.

The two meet up with some of Jessica's old friends, and make some new ones on the trip. Emily meets a boy she likes and both deal with the fallout from Emily's issue at school.

The book flipped between the two perspectives and while sometimes I find it annoying, I didn't mind it in this book. There were a few times I actually laughed out loud.
