I don't remember why I added it to my list of books to read, but lately I order a few books from the list either directly from the library or from Libby. This one came up on Libby one day and I started reading!
This is a mystery set in Singapore. The book starts with the introduction of Aunty Lee. She runs a restaurant and on that particular day, the news was buzzing about a woman's body being found at a tourist spot. Aunty Lee became very caught up in the story and couldn't wait until that evening to talk about it at the wine dining she and her step son were hosting. Guests started showing up and when one doesn't make it, Aunty Lee starts to wonder if something happened to her. She gets even more suspicious when a girl shows up in a panic looking for this missing guest.
Aunty Lee phones in a tip to the police and soon they visit her to get more information. She keeps pressing for more information and starts investigating the mystery herself. Somehow she has connections all over the place and thinks of things the police didn't. She is sure that the mystery can all be tied back to the wine dining and invites all the guests back to eat again where she tries to get more information.
The book had some nice twists and was an easy read. It was enjoyable, but I'm not sure that I will read the next one in the series, even if it is on my to-read list!
